Basic Toe-Up Socks

Designed by Keya Kuhn of

Looking for a Basic Toe-Up knitted sock pattern that’s also made two-at-a-time? Well, Keya’s got you covered. This adaptable pattern provides instructions for two-at-a-time construction or making the socks one at a time. It uses the short-row heel method but you could use any afterthought heel or other heel method too.

You’ll be using a figure-8 cast-on method with 463 yards of sock weight yarn. Keya used her own Cedar Hill Farm Company Rocket Sock yarn in the colorway We’re All Mad Here. You’ll need 2.5mm circular needles with a 47″/119cm cable, a locking marker, yarn needle and 2 sliding markers (optional).

The pattern comes with instructions to make small (7″ circumference), medium (8″), large (9″) and extra-large (10″).
