Cable Top Boxy

Designed by Cheryl Beckerich of

A number of unique design elements make the Cable Top Boxy sweater something bound to get you complements every time you wear it. Cable stitches begin at the neck and run down to the top half of the sleeves. The turtle neck and hem are ribbed.

Her pattern includes instructions for making a sweater from a bust size of 33 inches to a bust size of 60 inches (10 sizes in all!).

Cheryl designed this intermediate-level knitting pattern with DK or light worsted weight yarn. Her sample was done using Skeins Swans Island Sterling Collection in Malachite.

You’ll need between 1075 meters and 1525 meters (depending upon size) of your chosen yarn. Desired gauge is 22 rows of 18.25 stitches in stockinette stitch to produce a 4 inch square.

You’ll need a 4.5mm 16″ circular needle, a 4.5mm or 36″ circular needle, 4.5mm double pointed needle, cable needle, waste yarn, stitch markers and a tapestry needle. Adjust needle sizes accordingly to achieve gauge.
