Congenial Beanie and Cowl Set

Designed by Cheryl D. Floyd of

Worked with 2 strands of Red Heart’s Unforgettable yarn or your favorite worsted weight (#4) yarn, the Congenial Beanie and Cowl are super warm and stylish. Cheryl used Unforgettable in Sunrise. It also looks great worked with Tidal and Bistro.

This intermediate level patten is worked using slip stitch, chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, front post stitches, linked stitches, foundation stitches and stacked single crochet (aka stacked double crochet). Stitches are worked in a spiral. If any of those aren’t familiar, no worries, Cheryl’s 6 page pattern will text you.

Cheryl has provided instructions on making this hat in sizes small, medium and large. For the small, you’ll need about 231 yards of yarn and an H hook. Medium requires 270 yards and a J hook. The large requires about 277 yards and an L hook. You’ll need an L hook for the cowl.
