Knitted Hearts & Cables Sweater Poncho

Designed by Kathleen Fields of

This lovely knitting pattern by Kathleen has the distinction of being the first knitting pattern featured on Timeless Fiber Designs!

This one-sized fits most pattern features cabled hearts and diamonds and may be best suited for someone who is somewhat comfortable knitting cables. But, Kathleen does think it is a pattern where an “advanced beginner” or intermediate level knitter could have success. We like this pattern due to how it is shaped and draped. It tends to look like it has sleeves, but the sides are not closed.

It was designed for 4ply worsted weight yarn and you’ll need a pair of straight size 11 knitting needles, a pair of size 10 circular needles and a cable needle. You’ll need approximately 1,200 yards of the primary color and approximately 250 yards for the secondary color. Of course, you could opt to make yours with just a single color.

The pattern includes written instructions, chart and photos.
