Modern Metro

Designed by Karen Whooley of

It’s sophisticated. It’s stylish. Dress it up with evening wear or go casual. Best of all, clever design makes Modern Metro easy to make.

Karen really knew what she was doing when she incorporated elements of origami into a crocheted sweater pattern. Modern Metro is shaped like a shawl or wrap but has wonderful dolman or batwing sleeves that extend down to the waist. Karen’s instructions are to make a size small (up to 56″ bust) sweater with additional instructions to make a large (68″ bust) version.

Her sample was made with Sprightly Yarns Acrylic Wool worsted in the color of Greige. You’ll need 1350 yards/1234 meters of worsted weight yarn to make a small and 1520 yards/1390 meters for a large. Guague for knitted single stitch is 13 rows of 14 stitches to create a 4 inch square.
