Until now, whenever I thought of the Queen of Hearts, I immediately hear Juice Newton in my head. But, after seeing this beautiful Queen of Hearts shawl by Karen Whooley, I’ll have a nice visual to go along with that tune.
Karen’s sample was made with 1,550 yards of fingering yarn from Schmutzerella Yarns and a 3.5mm hook. She used a combination of mini skeins, full skeins and mini skein sets to get the lovely color gradient in her shawl. To test for gauge, make a 4 inch swatch using a ch 1, dc pattern for 24 stitches and 11 rows.
The pattern includes a written pattern, stitch chart, instructions on making the special stitches and full-color photos.
