Scottish Ale II

Designed by Cheryl Beckerich of

Scottish Ale II is a tunic-length version of Cheryl’s original Scottish Ale sweater but with additional length and shaping for the female form. It was designed to be wider at the hips than at the bust but there’s instructions to make it without the tapering, if you would prefer a more straight silhouette.

It’s a warm and dense knitted sweater worked up in worsted weight yarn. This intermediate-level knitting pattern includes instructions for sizes small, medium, large, extra-large, 2XL and 3XL. You’ll need between 1390 and 2150 yards of yarn, depending upon the size you wish to make. You will also need a 5mm 24″/60 cm circular needle, a 5mm 16″/40 circular needle, a cable needle, stitch markers and a tapestry needle.

The gauge for this sweater is 25.5 rows of 19 stitches of moss stitch to 4″.
