Cheryl’s warm and rugged sweater is knitted with Cascade Yarns Ecological Wool but any bulky worsted weight yarn that yields a gauge of 19 stitches and 25.25 rows in a moss stitch per 4 inches should work well. Her recommended yarn has 478 yards per skein. You’ll need 3 skeins for a small sweater, 4 for a medium or large and 5 for x-large and xx-large.
You’ll need a 4mm 24 inch circular needle and a 4mm 16 inch circular needle or needle size needed to achieve gauge. You’ll also need a cable needle and a tapestry needle to complete the Scottish Ale sweater.
