This is a great project for new crocheters and Cheryl’s such a great teacher as well. With the Simple Ribbed Dishcloth, she’ll teach you how to do the back-loop only method to create a wonderfully ribbed dishcloth. She includes tips on making a perfect square, blocking and how to ensure the yarn is colorfast.
This project is also a great stashbuster. You’ll need around 48 yards of a 100% cotton medium-weight (#4) yarn. Cheryl’s samples were worked with Peaches and Creme in Aquamarine and Red, White and Blue. One of their skeins is plenty to make 2 dish cloths.
The gauge is 15 stitches in 12 rows of single crochet in the back loop only to create a 4 inch square, after blocking.
